About Us

At the Klinic, we educate and motivate to create lifelong behavioural change.

ERIN GLASS

Owner/Director and Exercise Physiologist/Pilates Instructor.

In short, Erin is Klinic’s Boss Lady – a hardworking, compassionate, loud, and caring Pilates devotee who’s happy to claim that she’s good at getting people to do what she wants.

  • It’s a gift, borne out of an immense belief in the benefits of exercise. She’s always loved to move her body because it makes her feel physically strong and mentally clear. Team sports, running, gym, and boot camps have all got a gong, but Pilates is her long-lasting exercise of choice.

Why Pilates? Because it doesn’t matter what kind of day you’re having – motivated or otherwise – she says you can always find movements to suit.

Erin particularly loves working with pregnant women and post-partum mums, showing them that they’re much stronger than they think. And because she’s always keen to increase her knowledge, she’s currently studying to be a Women’s Health Exercise Physiologist. She already has a Master of Clinical Exercise Physiology and a Cert IV Mat & Reformer Pilates.

While her gift motivates others to reach their exercise goals, seeing them achieve them (and returning despite ‘barely being able to walk’) is a gift in return.

When she’s not at work, you’ll probably find her doing Pilates at home, hanging with her husband and three dogs, or out shopping. Erin loves buying presents for any occasion, birthdays, babies, new dog, you name it!

JULIE BOWEN

When Julie stumbled across her first Pilates class it was a case of accidental magic. She thought it looked fun, decided to give it a try, and was instantly hooked.

Pilates Instructor

  • She’s always loved exercise but discovering that you can build strength without feeling like your body is being punished was a revelation. Pilates showed her that you don’t have to lift heavy weights or run (putting your knees and hips under strain) to build tone and muscle.

Now she’s all about empowering clients to get results (ideally fast) so they can build body confidence. She loves seeing their flexibility improve. Most importantly, she loves to see them smile.

A certified instructor with Cert IV Mat & Reformer under her belt, Julie’s overall aim is to make people feel comfortable in class. She does it well. Not only is she ready to laugh at herself, but she can talk underwater with a mouthful of marbles. To anyone!

She claims to be an amazing dancer – who might just happen to get left and right mixed up from time to time. You’re welcome to point it out when she does.

One of her favourite things about work is seeing the change in clients from when they arrive a little tired or down to bouncing out the door feeling ‘ready for the day’.

When she’s not at work, Julie loves to water ski and spend time with her four fur kids and partner Andy. She doesn’t mind shopping either, but that’s a secret!

RACQUEL STEVENS

Helping other people to get back from injury is a huge motivator for our human ball of energy, instructor Racquel. After a lifetime of ankle injuries, she knows all about the recovery process.

Pilates Instructor/Physiotherapist

  • Racquel visited the physiotherapist so regularly that she decided to become one herself. She has a Bachelor of Physiotherapy and a Bachelor of Health and Rehab Science.

She started Pilates as a client and fell in love with how good the burn is without doing high-intensity heavy-weight training. This inspired her to do a DMA Clinical Pilates course so she could help others achieve their goals. It’s true, she does delight in making others burn, but for good reason. She knows the smile and sense of achievement will follow.

Pilates aside, she’s a bit of a guru at helping others achieve the little things in their life that they value. She loves when clients share their successes – big or little. Be sure to fill her in and score yourself an instant cheerleader!

Racquel’s favourite way to unwind is with exercise. She runs, plays netball and basketball, and does Pilates. She also enjoys spending time with her partner Jacob and two fur babies Marlie and Murphy.

A little success of her own is managing to be the tallest of three sisters, while also the youngest!

When Erin (her daughter) first bought the Klinic, Carmen was told she had to have a go. She didn’t know what a reformer machine was and had never even heard of Pilates. But she was hooked from day one.

Administration

CARMEN GLASS

  • Her motherly role now extends beyond Erin to include the entire Klinic team. Instructors come to her with ideas, and for ideas, to share problems, or to ask for parenting, cooking, and general life advice. And she loves it, as well as smashing her admin duties.

Carmen’s support for everyone is as solid as it comes, including clients. She’s only too happy to iron out any issues, and she never tires of seeing their happy faces leaving a class after a tough workout from their instructors.

Outside of work, one of Carmen’s favourite things to do is cook and cater for others. Her favourite meal is Crumbed Cutlets & Veggies, just in case you’re wondering. She’s involved with the Yackandandah Cricket & Footy/Netball Club. And she doesn’t mind a spot of shopping.

Carmen is a highly valued Jack of All Trades, but don’t ask her to do the Nut Bush. Despite loving to dance, that skill still eludes her.

BRIDGET SCHLIEBS

Bridget is yet another one of our warm and passionate instructors with a knack for getting people to follow her instructions. Wrangling primary school kids as a teacher for 13 years has given her lots of practice.

Pilates Instructor

  • She discovered Pilates when hunting for a new challenge and a whole-body workout. Before long she was educating herself and obtained a Cert IV Mat and Reformer Pilates.

Her teaching skills are one thing, by the way. Her ability to build self-confidence in both students and Pilates clients is another. It’s outstanding.

Not surprisingly, she loves watching clients improve and become stronger. She also shares their pride and joy when they nail a new move.

Bridget is Mum to Freddie Roy, her little man, born in April 2023. She’s married to Toby and has her heart set on owning a dog at some stage.

If you want any other details, just ask her, she says she’s an open book and quite partial to telling people her whole life story.

Chloe is like a human bubble machine projecting out bright and bubbly vibes, and a whole lot of words. She says she’s the world’s most talkative person, but she might have to debate that with fellow instructor Julie. The problem is, they might never stop.

Pilates Instructor

CHLOE BREEWEL

  • It’s the post-class high that drew Chloe to Pilates. She says there’s no better feeling. And feeling good is high on Chloe’s radar.

She loves making other people smile and ensuring they get the sense that they belong no matter their circumstances. Her superpower is helping them overcome fears and hurdles, so they believe they’re capable.

Helping people is her forte. As well as being a qualified Pilates instructor, she’s a qualified hairdresser who runs her own bridal hair business, and she’s partway through a nursing degree. Being able to assist others brings her incredible joy.

As do the girls at the Klinic. They’re her favourite part of the job, which says a lot given how much she loves working with clients. She says the team bond is pretty special. They’re not just colleagues, they’re also family.

At home, her family includes fiancé Dillon, their sweet little girl Thea, and fur baby Maxxy Boy. To unwind, Chloe loves to run. And if she’s not running, she’s usually reading a good book.

The one thing that might burst her bubble(s)? No shower. Chloe says she absolutely MUST have one in the morning and one at night. Every single day. And if this means rising at 4.20am for 30 seconds under the spout, so be it!

While Lilly is active and energetic, it’s the slow movement of Pilates that got her hooked. She first tried it while addressing her own health, fast becoming a firm believer that the pace of the movements is a way of caring for the body.

Pilates Instructor

LILLY LLOYD

  • Lilly got her Mat & Reformer Qualifications in Melbourne through Unite Health.

She’s particularly interested in mindful movement and connecting to the breath. She loves teaching clients to be grateful for their fabulous healthy, moving bodies. And getting them results!

When not working, anything that requires some hands-on creativity is bound to keep Lilly inspired. She loves styling food, and interiors, creating content, and cooking. Her favourite way to unwind is spending time in the kitchen.

As one of four, Lilly has a busy family life. Plus, her cute little ‘snag of a doggo’ has the energy levels of a kelpie and always keeps her on her toes.

LUCY ANDERSON

Lucy is Klinic’s full-time comedian and part-time Pilates Princess. Her classes are never dull. It took only one class of Pilates to make her obsessed (she is forever grateful to the friend that introduced her) and her vibrant, enthusiastic nature is bound to hook you in too.

Pilates Instructor

  • She has a Cert 4 in Pilates Matwork and Reformer and is studying for a Clinical Diploma in Pilates. Be warned, she has some expertise in time travel too. Her 10-second planks mysteriously become 30-second ones.

Empowering people to try new things and push their bodies to new limits is one of Lucy’s favourite parts of the job. She feels very lucky to be working in such a supportive space where people come to move their bodies in a way that feels good.

Moving her own body is how she likes to unwind. Anything sporty, really.

Reading and spending time outdoors are also high on the out-of-hours list of activities. And taking care of her 25 indoor plants.

Should her comedic timing ever wane, she could always try and resurrect a long-lost talent. Aged 9, she went on the Great Victorian Bike ride with her Mum and won $200 hula hooping in a talent contest!

As a dancer of many years, Sarah developed a keen interest in the connectivity of the body, the way it could strengthen, and the shapes it could make. But a long gap and a sore back from her second pregnancy caused that interest to wane. She even fell out of love with moving her body.

Pilates Instructor

SARAH PHIBBS

  • Then a recommendation to take one of Erin’s Pilates classes changed everything. Her fascination with all things body returned.

Sarah had been doing Pilates sporadically for a long time, but the way Erin taught it made her want to do it every week. Each session was unique, challenging, and personalised enough that she could feel herself progress. She did a course in Mat and Reformer Pilates through Breathe Education and became well and truly fixated on helping others to move their body fearlessly and with confidence.

This means she’s all for pushing clients to make shapes with their bodies that they didn’t think they could. She loves seeing them challenging the limits and barriers they’ve placed on themselves and goes to great lengths to break down exercises so everyone can be involved and participate. Sarah knows there’s great power in understanding and appreciating your body and what it’s capable of.

On top of her Bachelor of Dance from the Victorian College of Arts, and her Pilates qualifications, Sarah almost has a Bachelor of Nutrition. She started one at Endeavour College of Natural Health but didn't finish with three subjects to go - thanks firstborn child and years of COVID.

She now has a girl gang of three who keep life busy for her and her husband Steve. Unwinding is tricky but essential, and Sarah loves to take walks in the fresh air, replete with peace and quiet. Or you can find her deep in a book, learning something new.

Chrissy used to hit the gym and give her body a really hard time. She fell in love with Pilates when she realised its potential to develop strength, coordination/balance, and a healthy mindset. According to Chrissy, when you leave a Pilates class you always feel amazing!

Pilates Instructor

CHRISSY SCHULZ

  • Not only that, Chrissy knows from firsthand experience how beneficial Pilates can be for rehabilitation. She’s had spinal surgery and it helped immensely.

Chrissy recently completed a Diploma of Clinical Pilates with Breathe Education so she can help others to overcome or live with injuries. And to build strength.

She’s kind, reliable, supportive, and a natural at helping clients gain the confidence to try things they thought they couldn’t. Seeing them extend themselves makes her incredibly happy.

As does sharing a bottle of bubbles and a cheese platter with family and friends. Other pastimes include playing tennis, walking, horse racing, going to Pilates, and talking about her gorgeous grandson Ted.

Once upon a time, she sang in a band, which her three beautiful daughters now deem embarrassing. She loves them anyway, along with her three dogs and her husband Brett.
