OPEN REFORMER PILATES

For: Newbies, Mums-to-be, Regulars
Time: 45mins

In fact, this class is for everybody - newbies, mums-to-be, and experienced regulars. The whole body workout, led by highly trained instructors, uses a Pilates reformer machine and other tools to make you feel longer and stronger. It targets posture, core stability, strength, and flexibility. Instructors can make modifications throughout the class to decrease or increase the challenge, ensuring you get the most out of your session.

MEN DO PILATES

For: Men only!

Designed for males, this class challenges the stigma that “Pilates is for girls”. You’ll use the reformer to build and maintain strength while challenging aspects of core strength and balance. It’s a great whole-body workout and a chance to have a laugh with some like-minded people. Belly laughs are a bonus!

Lovers of mat and reformer Pilates, take note. This circuit-style class is the perfect combination of both, and suitable for all. It contains less cardio and more strength-building exercises, using our favourite Pilates modalities. We use various props to enhance and intensify your workout.

Over 55 and keen to keep your body moving? This is the class for you. We use the reformer and other props to improve strength, maintain posture, and challenge balance and coordination, allowing you to feel more confident with daily activities and keep enjoying the things you love to do.

Ready to sweat? This class uses a specific reformer and jumpboards to get your heart rate soaring. Don’t worry, you won’t be jumping the whole time. You’ll walk out having had a great full-body workout.

PRE & POST NATAL

We love helping Mums and can assist you both during your pregnancy and in your postpartum recovery. This reformer class aims to target core stability, posture, strength and mobility. You can continue Pregnancy Pilates up until bubs arrives (provided you are feeling well, and your GP approves). We provide modifications depending on your stage.

Once bub has joined you, we welcome them too. Quiet ones and loud ones. All without judgement. They may lie on a mat next to you, sit in a pram, rest in a baby bouncer capsule - whatever they prefer. We do our very best to assist in settling so you can keep moving. However, if you need to attend to them, you can simply rejoin the class when ready.

We recommend commencing this class once you’ve had a post-natal check up with your doctor or obstetrician and have been cleared to exercise (generally after six weeks).

  • Reformer Pilates is a machine based form of exercise using a reformer, a spring loaded machine designed to provide a whole body workout. to strengthen and stretch. Reformer Pilates aims to improve muscle endurance and strength, balance, co-ordination, posture and so much more. Any one can do reformer pilates, no matter your age, level of fitness or experience.

  • No, if you are happy to jump straight into group classes, you can book a class via the MINDBODY App.

  • We love welcoming new clients to the Klinic! We want to make sure you are comfortable no matter your ability. Our classes are all open level, meaning anyone can join and our amazing instructors will be right there with you to make sure you feel supported.

    Our recommendation? Start with an open level reformer class to get in the flow and go from there. You’re always welcome to take everything at your own pace and exercises can be modified with ease.

  • Congratulations! If you have a low risk pregnancy and/or have been cleared to exercise by your doctor, you can join our group classes. Our highly trained instructors adhere to the current global standards of prenatal guidelines, therefore we will make seamless modifications depending on your current pregnancy stage. We also offer private sessions with our Exercise Physiologist which may work better for you.

  • Bookings for our group reformer classes can be made via MINDBODY App on your mobile device.

  • Whether you’re coming for your first assessment appointment, a group class or private session, all you need to do is:

    • Wear comfortable exercise clothing

    • Bring clean socks, we do sell specific grip socks in studio if needed.

    • BYO water bottle - we have water available

    • YES to change rooms and bathrooms on site, N/A to showers

  • Yes absolutely! Gift vouchers can be purchased in studio within working hours. We can always post it to the lucky person if needed. Gift Vouchers can be redeemed by emailing us at info@theklinic.com.au

  • While we wish we could have everyone in the studio, we keep our classes small to maintain our personalised approach to movement. Because of this, classes can fill up quickly! Our advise is to book in early, however jump on our waitlists. You’ll be notified via email and/or text if a place becomes available. Hot tip: Always jump on a waitlist, things move quickly and you’ll most likely get in!
